Teacher for Perris City Council
Malcom Corona's parents brought him to this country from Mexico when he was just a few months old. As the youngest of four children born to a Truck Driver and a now retired social worker, his parents made their way to Perris, California in 1987. He attended Perris public schools from grades K-12 and was involved in youth sports. He graduated from Perris High School in 2003 where he was involved in student government and was a standout multi-sport athlete.
Upon graduation, Malcolm Corona received an academic scholarship to UC Irvine where he promptly got involved in school affairs. Upon earning his teaching credential, he taught for two years in Coachella Valley, in one of the most impoverished regions in the nation. He later earned a Master's Degree in Education. He soon married his beautiful and supportive wife, Milangela.
When Malcolm Corona received his dream job of teaching in Perris, he became a proud homeowner in the same community that he teaches and coaches our youth. The community of Perris is lucky to have a dedicated teacher who lives and gives back to our students. Currently, Malcolm Corona teaches Mathematics and the newly created Engineering classes at Perris High School, where he prepares our students for in-demand jobs. He also continues coaching and mentoring our youth. Malcolm Corona and his wife are how raising their son Malcolm Jr.
Malcolm Corona's life is framed and fueled by his parents' and grandparents’ steady example of hard work, integrity, and education. These traits helped his parents to achieve the American Dream and to raise four college graduates and public school teachers. What’s more, his personal faith has taught me the importance of serving others, particularly those most in need, such as the youth, the elderly, and the impoverished.
Malcolm Corona is running for City Council for The City of Perris in order to bring positive and responsible change where all residents can feel safe and proud of their community. We have seen Perris grow and develop, but not always in positive ways. Malcolm Corona wants Perris to be a place where people want to move to, not away from. He plans to serve for the advancement of all and not just the few. Malcolm Corona will be an honest voice of the people who expect their leaders to listen to their concerns. Vote for me in November and we can work together to make Perris a city we can all be proud of.
